Digital Life: The story of Molotov Alva, a Second Life citizen
Posted by: chuckm on Sunday, May 18, 2008 - 01:54 AM

Hmmm....

Seems close to a year since I've added anything here, it's original purpose was to
act as a repository of various Open Source projects and Quake fanbased addons,
with a personal blog for personal ramblings of various interests. I've continued
with the care and feeding (and being watch dog of the site) and the updates to the
file library, but the blog aspect has been long neglected. To change that, let's
start off with blaming it with my minor addition to Second Life.

Well, the zombie bots are at it again, but this time they found a way in
thru a webapp called 'Olbookmarks' (ver 0.74), in which a Remote File Include
could be introduced into the system.

Looks like the hacked-bots are at it again, this time they're trying to

Here's an interesting little Linux Mini/LiveCD version, whose only purpose is to become
a dedicated multi-media box connected to your home server.

Maxtor Hard Drive 'Click of Death'...
Posted by: chuckm on Monday, March 27, 2006 - 12:46 AM
Digital Life
Well, my 200-gig Maxtor Model-9 has become totally useless and f*cked me
over while I was trying to back it up. All it does now is whine and constantly
clicks, while the system BIOS says 'HARD DRIVE FAILURE'.

PostNuke
Ouch... It occurred to me that I've been testing/installing updates to various
php components of the system using souces directly from the downloads
without storing them in the public libraries.

The MMedia files browser utility "ZINA" has been updated to version 12.11,
which seemed a good time to update this site's versions of zina (11.19).
